How do I code a replacement ECU or module on a Chinese EV outside China?
A new body controller, radar, camera or other module arrives blank or coded for a different car, and the vehicle rejects it until someone writes the VIN, applies the variant coding for your exact trim and runs the post-replacement routines with the OEM tool. Our engineer does that remotely through an ENET cable while your workshop watches.
Why does this happen to imported Chinese EVs?
Chinese EVs bind most controllers to the VIN and to a coding string that describes the trim: drive type, sensors fitted, market, options. A used or new module without the right string leaves functions greyed out or throws configuration faults.
Only the OEM diagnostic software can write that data, and only with an authorised login. A workshop abroad has neither. Shipping the module to China for coding costs weeks; a remote session takes an hour.
What happens in the remote session?
You send the part number of the new module and the VIN; we confirm the coding path and quote.
Module fitted, cable in, engineer connected. The engineer reads the new module and the car’s configuration.
VIN write, variant coding and any calibration or adaptation routines the module needs.
Function test with you at the car, codes cleared, report issued.
