How do I calibrate the ADAS camera on a Chinese EV after a windscreen replacement?
Lane keeping and adaptive cruise switch off after a windscreen change until the forward camera is calibrated with the OEM routine. Workshops abroad usually have the target boards but not the software or login. An OEM engineer runs the static or dynamic calibration remotely through an ENET cable while your technician positions the target.
Why does this happen to imported Chinese EVs?
The camera learns its exact position relative to the car during calibration. Move it a millimetre, as any windscreen change does, and the car disables every function that depends on it until the routine is repeated.
The routine itself is quick. What blocks a workshop abroad is the OEM tool and account needed to start it, plus the target pattern and distances for that model. We bring the tool; we tell you the target spec in advance.
What happens in the remote session?
You tell us the model and which functions are disabled; we send the target pattern, distances and floor requirements with the quote.
Car levelled, target set, cable in, engineer connected.
The engineer starts the OEM static calibration and reads back the result. If the model requires a dynamic step, your technician drives the route the engineer specifies.
Functions re-enabled, calibration report saved for your customer.
