Can a Tesla imported from China be fixed remotely?

Yes. OEM engineers in China connect to Chinese-version and export Tesla cars through an ENET cable and your Windows PC and run the factory diagnostic software: OTA updates, fault-code clearing, ECU coding, key programming and crash-lock recovery. Sessions from $130, quoted before you pay.

China-built Model 3 and Model Y. Tesla delivers OTA globally, so imports usually need fault diagnosis and post-repair routines rather than software; describe the problem in the booking and we confirm what is possible.

Common questions about Tesla imports

Can you OTA update a Tesla imported from China?

Usually yes. The Tesla cloud only pushes updates to VINs registered in China, so an imported car stops updating. An OEM engineer downloads the package built for your VIN and flashes it over the ENET cable in a 60 to 90 minute session. We confirm the update path for your VIN before quoting.

Can you program a new key for a Tesla outside China?

Yes. Key learning on a Tesla needs the manufacturer's security server, which local locksmiths cannot reach. The engineer authorises the new key remotely while you hold it in the car, and revokes lost keys in the same session.

What does a remote session on a Tesla cost?

Tesla is not in the published price table, so the default rates apply: diagnostics $130, key programming $175, accident unlock $355. The engineer confirms the exact fee before you pay.

Which cable does a Tesla need?

A standard ENET cable: OBD-II plug on one end, RJ45 Ethernet on the other, DoIP (ISO 13400). Generic cables from about $20 work; we confirm the exact spec for your model when we quote.
